The goal was to have a cross border gifting platform from the US to India. The sender sends a gift card from the US, and receiver receives in India and can switch card as per their choice of card to redeem. A gifting platform on mobile, so being present on mobile, the client wants to target more audiences with getting into a web application with sender and receiver portal.
The product is already in the market as a mobile app. So we got a good amount of feedback from the client about the user requirements. We started building the product based on feedback and requirements received from the client.
It was clear from the onset that the major challenge will be to accommodate features like sorting by alphabets, switching multiple cards, category wise card list. And someone is sending gifts to their loved ones so the user should not get stuck or lost while sending or receiving the gift.
Initial designs were on paper sketches and then moved to Illustrator to create a wireframe covering the user stories. Wireframes designs were done for all the use cases. Designs were presented to the client and after approval, we moved to visual design.
Working on this project was interesting. The concept was new to me, and I got a chance to learn about how digital gifting platform work. The idea was to have a Whitelabel solution so it can be used for other countries.
Entire design and development process from it’s inception to finish was done by us—both websites are live and running successfully.
